Here’s why those who want to maximize their home sale should list sooner than later.
Despite popular belief, the spring market actually begins in January; that’s when the phones in our office start ringing off the hook and we see a rapid increase in the number of appointments set. The holidays are over, and everyone’s focus shifts toward seizing opportunity in the brand-new year. If you plan on waiting until March or April to get the ball rolling on your selling or buying plans, you’ll find yourself well behind the curve, facing more competition than you’d like.
Interest rates are expected to stay low and steady throughout 2021, which means we’ll likely see a continuation of strong buyer demand in our market. What we really need is more listings. Though overall activity kicks up in January and February, inventory lags a little; if you’re wanting to maximize your early 2021 home sale, then listing in those first two months will give you access to all the buyers who are flooding into a market that will still be relatively limited in its offerings.
