A Few Maintenance Tips for Your Home This Spring

Here are a few things you should check off of your spring maintenance checklist.

Spring is right around the corner, so today I have some advice to get your home ready for the better weather ahead.

As snow melts, you’ll see debris, salt, and sand left behind. One thing I recommend is getting your lawn fertilized and leaves cleaned up right away so that your grass can have a good, firm, solid foundation and the roots will go deep for when the warm summer comes. The dry weather can really do a number on it.

Next, get your downspouts on, get your gutters cleaned, and make sure everything is draining properly. Getting water away from your foundation is the most important thing for your home. Make sure that water flows and once it hits the soil, it keeps flowing away from the house. They recommend about a two-inch slope to about six feet out to keep the water away.

Lastly, check your windows. Some sliding windows have a track in them that you can take out and clean so you don’t get water damage on your windowsill.

If you have any other questions about getting your home ready for spring or anything else related to real estate, don’t hesitate to reach out via phone or email. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
